The two join a global mix of contenders, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from the UK, American singer Matt B, Peruvian guitarist Ciro Hurtado, and Spanish flamenco artist Antonio Rey, highlighting the diversity of the category.

The “Best African Music Performance” category, introduced in 2024, further spotlights Nigerian talent, with nominations for Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” Asake and Wizkid’s collaboration “MMS,” and Davido’s feature on “Sensational” with Chris Brown and Lojay.

Burna Boy returns with “Higher,” while Tems rounds out the category with “Love Me Jeje,” securing her third nomination this year. With multiple nods, Tems leads the Nigerian pack and continues to solidify her place as a force in both R&B and African music.

In addition to the individual achievements, this year’s nominations reflect Nigeria’s growing influence in music, inspiring fans across Africa and beyond.

Grammy recognition not only elevates these artists’ profiles but also brings international attention to Afrobeat’s vibrant beats and messages. The 2025 Grammy Awards will be held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 2, offering a global stage for Nigeria’s best to shine.
