Seven Killed As Russian Strike Hits Ukraine Kherson

A devastating Russian artillery attack ripped through the heart of Kherson, Ukraine, on October 1, leaving a trail of destruction and despair. Seven innocent civilians lost their lives in the tragedy.

The assault occurred around 9 am local time, targeting a bustling market and public transportation hub. Video footage captured the aftermath, revealing shattered glass, debris, and the bodies of victims on the pavement.

According to the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office, “Russian forces unleashed cannon artillery fire on Kherson’s city center, striking near a local market and public transport stop.” The statement confirmed that three women and four men were among the fatalities.

Located on the western bank of the Dnipro River, Kherson has become a de facto front line between Russian and Ukrainian forces. Despite Russia’s withdrawal from the city in November 2022, intense shelling has continued.

Governor of Kherson, Yaroslav Yanushevych, condemned the attack, emphasizing the humanitarian toll. “Civilians are paying the price for this senseless violence.”
As the conflict rages on, international leaders have urged restraint and a diplomatic resolution.
