Stark Pages Initiative Launches Literary Students Program to Inspire Young Writers

The Stark Pages Creative and Literary Arts Initiative, a nonprofit founded by Dianah Ngamdy, has recently introduced its three-phase program, the Stark Pages Literary Students Initiative (LSI). The initiative aims to ignite a passion for reading and creative writing among secondary school students.

The LSI began with a series of interactive workshops held across secondary schools in Abuja, Edo, and Lagos states. These sessions encouraged students to explore their creativity and develop their writing skills under the guidance of experienced mentors.

The program’s second phase features a nationwide call for literary submissions, inviting secondary school students to submit their works for a chance to win cash prizes. The top three students will be awarded, alongside their schools, which will receive corresponding prizes.

In its final stage, the initiative will publish an anthology showcasing the top 50 submissions, celebrating young literary voices and offering them a national platform. This anthology will mark the beginning of a series that amplifies the stories and perspectives of Nigeria’s youth.

Ngamdy emphasized the importance of encouraging literary arts from an early age. “The literary arts should be nurtured at the early stages of creativity, and I would love to see more secondary school students explore their potential,” she stated.

Through the Stark Pages Literary Students Initiative, Ngamdy and her team hope to inspire the next generation of Nigerian writers and foster a culture of storytelling and literary excellence.
