Tinubu Visits France to Forge New Partnerships Benefiting Nigerians

…talks to Focus on Employment, Education, and Economic Growth

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu will travel to France on Wednesday for a three-day state visit aimed at strengthening Nigeria-France ties. The visit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, is set to create new opportunities for Nigerians in areas such as youth employment, innovation, and energy transition.

“This visit promises significant benefits for Nigeria,” said Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. He highlighted key sectors of focus, including agriculture, education, health, and security, which are critical to Nigeria’s growth.

On Thursday, Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will attend official ceremonies at Les Invalides and Palais de l’Élysée, hosted by Macron and his wife, Brigitte. The two leaders will hold bilateral talks centered on boosting economic cooperation and political collaboration, especially in automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership development for Nigerian youth.

“Both leaders are committed to improving youth competencies and driving innovation,” Onanuga added. Tinubu will also join a session with the France-Nigeria Business Council to encourage private-sector investments in solid minerals, trade, and communications.

Meanwhile, the First Ladies will discuss social empowerment programs, focusing on women, children, and vulnerable populations through Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative. The visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by Macron before Tinubu’s departure.
