Two Storey School Building Collapses In Plateau, Many Students Trapped In Rubble

A devastating incident has unfolded at Saint Academy in the Busa Buji community of Jos North Local Government Area, Plateau State, as a two-storey school building collapsed, leaving dozens of students trapped and feared injured.

The catastrophic event occurred at approximately 8:30 am today, while students were in the midst of writing their exams.

“It’s a terrible scene, and we’re doing everything possible to rescue those trapped,” said a witness, as rescue operations continue with security personnel and emergency workers racing against time to save those buried under the debris.

The collapse has sent shockwaves of grief and panic through the community, with distraught parents and residents flocking to the school to search for their loved ones. “We’re trying to stay hopeful, but it’s a very difficult situation,” said a parent, her voice trembling with worry.

As the rescue efforts persist, the cause of the building’s collapse remains unknown, sparking questions about the structural integrity of the school’s infrastructure.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions.
