Woman Collapses In FCT Market As N275,000 Misses From Handbag

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Abaji Main Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) yesterday, when a female trader, Mrs. Gladys Ibrahim, fainted after discovering that N275,000 had gone missing from her handbag.

The incident sparked panic among market vendors, with some traders rushing to pour water on her to revive her.

According to eyewitness Gambo, Mrs. Ibrahim, who travels from Auchi in Edo State every five market days to purchase large quantities of melon and groundnut, was shocked to find the money missing from her handbag.

The incident bears a striking resemblance to another recent event where a woman, Madam Rebecca, collapsed at the same market after losing N335,000.

The FCT Police Command has yet to comment on the incident, leaving many questions unanswered.

As the situation unfolds, concerns about safety and security in public markets continue to grow.
