Lagos Govt. To Reward Corps Members With Sum Of N100,000 Each As Farewell Package

In a heartwarming display of gratitude and support, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a farewell gift of N100,000 for each Corps member leaving the state’s camp, totaling 4,254 beneficiaries from the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I.

This generous gesture is aimed at appreciating the corps members’ hard work and dedication to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

During his address at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja, Today, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his admiration for the corps members’ commitment to serving the nation.

He stated, “For this batch, we have 4,254, and with all sense of responsibility and because you have been very hardworking, each and every one of you will go home with N100,000.”

The governor assured the corps members that the money would be made available in their accounts by next week, courtesy of their directors.

In addition to the individual gifts, Governor Sanwo-Olu also announced a sum of N100 million for the NYSC support staff, recognizing their vital role in ensuring the success of the program.

Furthermore, he pledged N5 billion for the construction of a permanent site for the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in the state, signaling a significant investment in the future of the NYSC program.

The governor’s words of encouragement and appreciation were palpable as he addressed the corps members, saying, “This year alone I will be putting available a total of 5 billion that will be used to start the full development of the permanent site for NYSC.”

This commitment to the NYSC program demonstrates Governor Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to empowering young people and fostering national development.
