JAMB Moves To Streamline Admissions Process, Automates NML List

In a groundbreaking move, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has automated the national matriculation list (NML), streamlining the process of verifying admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

This innovative step aims to combat academic fraud and ensure the integrity of the admission process.

The automation, announced by JAMB Registrar Professor Ishaq Oloyede, enables institutions to upload their matriculation lists and receive analysis results within five minutes.

This swift verification process ensures that only genuine students are matriculated, preventing the use of counterfeit certificates.

The NML serves as an official document confirming a candidate’s admission into their chosen institution through JAMB’s central admissions processing system (CAPS).

With automation, JAMB fortifies its fight against academic fraud, making it increasingly difficult for individuals to falsify their admission status.

Institutions are now required to upload their matriculation lists and obtain analysis results before matriculating students.

Failure to comply may result in irregular admission status, rendering students ineligible for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) participation.

This bold move by JAMB marks a significant milestone in Nigerian tertiary education, ensuring a more secure and transparent admission process.

As the country continues to strive for academic excellence, JAMB’s automation of the national matriculation list sets a new standard for integrity and accountability in the education sector.
