US Moves To Combat Mpox Outbreak In Nigeria, Donates Vaccine Doses

In a significant move to combat the mpox outbreak in Nigeria, the United States government has donated 10,000 doses of the Jynneos vaccine to the country.

The donation, officially handed over in Abuja, is a testament to the strong partnership between the two nations in addressing public health concerns.

The Jynneos vaccine, approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is designed to prevent smallpox and mpox in adults aged 18 years and older who are at risk of mpox infection.

This timely donation will help Nigeria strengthen its response to the mpox outbreak, which has recorded 40 confirmed cases out of 830 suspected cases across the country.
