Edo Govt. Suspends Resumption Of Schools Due To Increase In Fuel Price

In a move to mitigate the impact of the recent fuel price hike on parents and guardians, the Edo State Government has announced an indefinite postponement of the resumption of all schools in the state.

The decision was made to avoid putting additional pressure on families already struggling with the economic effects of the fuel price increase.

According to a memo issued by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Ojo Akin-Longe, the resumption of schools, initially scheduled for September 9, has been put on hold until further notice.

The government has urged parents, guardians, and caregivers to closely monitor the activities of their children and wards during this time.

The Edo State Government’s decision comes as a response to the widespread concern about the fuel price hike and its potential to cause tension and disruption in the state.

By suspending school resumption, the government aims to give families time to adjust to the new economic reality and find ways to cope with the increased fuel prices.
