Fire Engulfs Abuja’s Kaura Market, Destroying Over 40 Shops

A massive fire swept through the popular Kaura Market in Abuja on Friday night, razing approximately 40 shops and leaving traders in distress.

The inferno, which began around 11 pm, has yet to have its cause determined.

Despite efforts to reach the FCT Fire Service and Emergency Management Department, details of the incident remain scarce.

However, reports indicate that traders have lamented the delayed arrival of the fire service, which allowed the fire to spread and cause significant losses.

The Kaura Market, located opposite the Prince and Princess Estate in the Kaura District of Abuja, is a bustling hub of commercial activity.

The fire has dealt a severe blow to the traders and business owners who operate there.

Investigations into the cause of the fire and the response of emergency services are expected to follow.

For now, the traders and local community are left to pick up the pieces and assess the damage.
