Olu Jacob’s Family Debunks Death Rumors, Says He Is Alive

The family of renowned Nigerian actor, Olu Jacobs, has officially refuted speculations of his demise, affirming that he is alive and well. Addressing the circulating rumors, Jacobs’ wife and fellow industry luminary, Joke Silva, took to social media to reassure everyone of her husband’s good health.

Having graced the screens for over five decades, Jacobs is revered for his exceptional talent showcased in both television and film. Regarded as a cornerstone of Nollywood, he has left an indelible mark through his appearances in more than 200 movies and numerous television productions.

Born on July 11, 1942, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Jacobs honed his acting skills at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Commencing his acting journey in the United Kingdom, he featured in various British television shows and films before returning to Nigeria in the late 1980s.

Upon his return, Jacobs catapulted into a flourishing career in Nollywood, swiftly becoming a household name. Some of his memorable works include “The Dogs of War” (1980), “Pirates” (1986), “Beauty and the Beast” (2008), and “21 Days with Christ” (2005).

Despite his battle with dementia over the years, Joke Silva has been a pillar of strength by his side throughout the challenging times. It is worth noting that this is not the first instance where unfounded rumors of his passing have circulated on social media.
