Oyo Gov. Makinde Visits Finland, Sweden For Agric. Development In State

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s recent visit to Finland and Sweden marks a significant milestone in his administration’s quest to revitalize the state’s agricultural sector. The trip aimed to forge strategic partnerships with international businesses and experts, driving growth and development in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.

During his Swedish leg, Governor Makinde engaged in fruitful discussions with influential Nigerian business leaders, including Mary Brakner, Founder of Matajet International Agric Trade Organization Sweden and Matajet Global Resources Nigeria. Brakner’s organization has been instrumental in promoting agricultural development in Nigeria, particularly in Oyo State.
“I commend Matajet Global Resources for their tireless efforts in enhancing Nigeria’s agricultural value chain,” Governor Makinde said. “We’re eager to collaborate with the Nigerian business community in Sweden, harnessing expertise to transform Oyo State’s agricultural sector.”

SchoolTRY AB, a Nigerian company in Sweden, hosted Governor Makinde to a business dinner in Stockholm, facilitated by Nigerians in Diaspora (NIDO-Sweden) President, Dr. Mrs. Halima Balogun-Amedu. The event brought together prominent Nigerian business leaders, diplomats, and experts.

Mary Brakner expressed her gratitude to Governor Makinde, saying, “Your visit acknowledges the Nigerian business community’s contributions to Nigeria’s development. We’re optimistic that this meeting will foster greater cooperation between Nigeria and international businesses, driving agricultural growth in Southwest Nigeria.”
The dinner meeting convened notable figures, including Elder Adebayo Lawal, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Dr. Debo Akande, and representatives from the Nigerian Embassy in Sweden.

As Governor Makinde’s administration continues to prioritize agricultural development, this Nordic visit underscores his commitment to exploring innovative solutions and international partnerships.
