PDP Party’s Appeal Court Cases in Rivers: National Leadership Takes over

The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has granted the public leadership of the People’s Democratic Party’s request to take over all cases pending at the complainant court in Rivers State.

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has still stated that it’s anti-party for the public leadership of the party to tell attorneys handling suits on behalf of the PDP in the State to hands off the cases.

Mr Johnson Usman, a elderly Advocate of Nigeria, had read a letter from the public body of the PDP to debrief each counsels representing their party in the cases before the court.

When the appeal filed by PDP against the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), Accord and its guardianship seeker, Dumo Lulu- Briggs and deputy came up, one of the counsels representing PDP from Ukala’s chambers, Dike Udenna, requested and applied that the court should barrage them since the complainant in the matter had asked them to hands off the case.

He also requested and applied that they should be examined in an appeal filed by PDP against INEC, APC and its National Assembly campaigners.

Other counsels in the case didn’t oppose the request; and the new legal representation from PDP, Usman, requested that the court should give him time to study the cases.

The lead judge, Justice Joseph Shangbai, granted the request to debrief state PDP counsel and suspended till February 3, 2023, for hail.

Meanwhile, Governor Wike said rather of the PDP public leadership to support the suits by the PDP in Rivers, it has asked attorneys handling the colorful legal matters to withdraw legal representations.

Governor Wike made the blameworthiness against the public leadership of the party on Monday, during the State PDP crusade flag off rally in Okehi, Etche Local Government Area of the state.

The Rivers State governor stated thatanti-party begetsanti-party and since the PDP public has started theanti-party game, it’ll getanti-party in return.

“We’ve caught them. They’re the bones engaged in anti-party. I told them anti-party begets anti party. You know we carried these small parties( APC, SDP) to court for failing to do what the law says.

“The people in Abuja that say they’re public have gone to collude with them( opposition parties) to write our attorneys a letter that they should take their hands off, in order to kill the cases we filed. I’ve told our attorneys to withdraw from the matters. I’ll hit them back by hereafter.

“Nothing hurts us without sustaining a scar. Anybody who dares to touch us in Rivers State, I’ll induce numerous scars on him and we’ve started it. We’re advancing for our people then. Now you have told us you’re doing anti-party. We’ll show you what anti party is. formerly, we’ve caught them red- handed. ”

Governor Wike emphasised that the forthcoming election is a battle that must be won, and prompted Etche people to go home, get prepared by collecting remainder of their endless voters Card with INEC and bounce all PDP campaigners in the State.

The governor stressed that the PDP in Rivers is a redoubtable team, completely set for the election and it has all that it takes to insure that the election is peaceful, with winning votes secured for all its campaigners.
