Supreme Court To Deliver Judgement On LG Autonomy

Today, thursday, the Nigerian Supreme Court concluded proceedings in the pivotal legal battle concerning the autonomy of Local Governments in Nigeria, instigated by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) on behalf of the Nigerian Government against various States.

Presided over by Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba and six fellow justices, the bench announced that the judgment date will be scheduled and subsequently notified to the involved parties and their legal representatives.

Following the submission and adoption of final addresses by the attorneys representing all parties, Justice Garba officially declared the court’s decision to reserve judgment, indicating the court’s readiness to deliberate and provide a resolution to this significant constitutional matter.
