Wike Urges Youths To Shun Proposed NationWide Protests

In a passionate appeal to residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister Nyesom Wike urged them to shun the planned nationwide protests against the rising cost of living, scheduled for August 1.

Wike, who spoke during a session with residents after inspecting the Abure to Dei Dei road construction in Abuja, described the protests as “politically motivated” and designed to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“Those asking you to protest are lying to you. It is not for the interest of Nigeria and it is not for your interest,” Wike said, his voice laced with concern.

He assured residents that President Tinubu is fully aware of the country’s problems and is working tirelessly to address them through various reforms and policies.

Wike emphasized that the government is committed to finding a lasting solution to the hunger and economic challenges facing the country.

“I know that hunger makes people lose patience. Please be patient. That is all I am asking. This hunger will reduce very soon,” he promised.

The Minister’s warning comes as many Nigerians are grappling with the rising cost of living, which has led to increased frustration and anger.

However, Wike’s message is clear: protests will not solve the problems, and residents must be patient and trust in the government’s efforts to bring about positive change.
