EFCC Arrests Three For Alleged Vote-Buying In Edo Election

In a bold move to safeguard the integrity of the Edo governorship election, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three individuals for alleged vote-buying. The suspects, two males and one female, were apprehended in the Egor Local Government Area of Edo State.

The EFCC’s swift action underscores its commitment to preventing electoral malpractices and ensuring a free and fair election. This arrest is not an isolated incident; the commission has been proactive in combating vote-buying, having previously apprehended 14 individuals in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states.

However, the arrests have sparked controversy, with some residents claiming that the suspects were unfairly targeted and not involved in vote-buying. The scene was dramatic, with EFCC officials taking the suspects into custody around 10:00 a.m., amidst protests from locals.
