Burial Rites For Nollywood Icon Mr. Ibu Commences In Enugu

The burial rites for Nollywood icon John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, have commenced in his hometown of Amuri, Enugu State. Today, Friday, June 28, marks the day when loved ones gather to bid a final farewell as his body arrives, as seen in videos shared online.

A tribute night was previously held in Enugu, graced by fellow actors such as Charles Anwurum and Victor Osuagwu, paying their respects to the late actor.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) recently honored Mr. Ibu with a candlelight procession in Abuja, commemorating his legacy in the entertainment industry.

In a heartfelt tribute, the Rangers International Football Club, along with celebrities and fans, organized a special football match to celebrate his life and contributions.

Mr. Ibu, who bravely battled diabetes and underwent multiple surgeries, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024.
