Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has announced an FCT Week spanning from May 27 to June 6 to unveil multiple projects completed in the Federal Capital Territory during his tenure. This series of inaugurations is set to mark the President’s completion of his first year in office.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike publicized the schedule as he oversaw the final stages of the projects. He confirmed the President’s commitment: “We are set to kick off the projects’ inaugurations starting May 27, culminating on June 6.”
Tinubu is scheduled to launch the Abuja Light Rail, also referred to as the Abuja Metro Line, on May 27, with a preliminary inspection slotted for May 20.

Wike voiced his optimism regarding the projects, including the Vice-President’s new residence, anticipated to open by June 6.
The swath of projects being introduced, including bus terminals, the FCT Court of Appeal Division, among others, reflects the President’s devotion to reigniting the hopes of the nation, according to the Minister.
In conclusion, Addressing concerns about certain city streetlights being out of service, Wike clarified that maintenance and testing are currently underway. He assured the residents that all streetlights would be fully functional in synchronization with the project inaugurations.
“Many streetlights you notice off are either being serviced or in testing phases. Expect them to illuminate our city again by the time we launch the inaugurations,” Wike stated, ensuring that all elements are in place for the FCT Week.
